This is technically the first email but let’s just call it the second because.. Because!
The big news are that Playboy is ditching nudes from it’s content. Million kids are going to eventually find old issues in their dad’s stash and he can tell mom that he is keeping them because in the future they will be invaluable. The plan for Playboy is summed up by Mr. Flanders explanation. “The difference between us and Vice,” he said, “is that we’re going after the guy with a job.”
Less interesting news is that Iran parliament approved the (controversial by both sides) nuclear deal. Now it remains to see if the Greek Multi Bill is going to get passed today without any problems.
Next door, Afghans are getting along with the fact that Americans will stay there forever.Obama needs to keep 5,500 soldiers in Afghanistan because Taliban are acting crazy again.
Now that you are in the low mood, checkout why Rockstars choose the live fast, die young life which makes them so much cooler than you and me. On the other side you can see how modern athletes hack themselves with science to keep breaking records. It’s all about efficiency people.
Margaret Hamilton is every programmer’s hero and not only. She was responsible for the onboard flight software on the Apollo computers and laid the foundation of a $400 billion industry. Remember all this happened at a time when Bill Gates was in pyjamas. Now picture that instead of Playboy nudes.
Margaret is understandably a feminist’s hero. But the gender bias was far from over in the 60s and it is far from over now. However artificial intelligence may have a solution.
Money is power and it can be a good thing even in little sums! Let’s be indians and build a casino. That is the outcome of an extraordinary study on what happens to poor kids when you give their parents a little money.
As a kid I always had a phobia that I might use an arm. I don’t know why but I thought about it a lot. If I was a kid now I wouldn’t worry that much as mentally controlled Iron-Man bionic prosthetics are a thing! One day you could be Tony, the other day Luke and the third day you can sing like Elsa.
I am not so much into podcasts but over the last year I’ve listened to two. One was Serial(obviously!) and the other one is by Phil Bronstein and David Pell of NextDraft. In their 30 minutes episodes they comment and have fun at the news and discover what’s wrong with them. The podcast is called What Hurts.
Nerdy stuff (Now that I typed this I feel even more less Rockstar)
There is a place where you can learn history. It’s not school. No, it’s not books people. Yes it is wikipedia but this shit can be more fun than this. It’s histography.io (probably only works on your laptop). Just click around and learn stuff. It is awesome.
Nasa has gotten so much better with people. It gives us stuff all the time! This week they gave us high resolution photos from the Apollo mission (the moon mission). Which if I can tell from The Martian it could not have been shot in a studio because the martian was too good to be true.
Also Boeing made the Lightest.Metal.Ever. It is all explained in a 2:23 minutes video.
DANGER, Technical stuff If you are an engineer and you deal with sensors with low output (most of them these days) here it is, a troubleshooting guide over at EE Times.
There was to be a simple writing about packing C structures. However it doesn’t feel ready yet so maybe another time.

How was that for first contact? Was it too big? Too geeky? Let me know by hitting reply and be forthright. I want emails people!
